Event Details: 
The Forest City Cycling Challenge, presented by Lerners Lawyers, is a cycling event in the London, Ontario and surrounding area that is raising funds for mental health. The event consists of four road routes (25/50/100/160km) and a mountain biking route.

Proceeds from the 2025 event will support Mental Health Care at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and the purchase of equipment dedicated to those with severe and persistent mental illness.

Join us for the exciting kickoff of our Sunday club ride season with Week 1's adventure!

For first-time riders, here's what you need to know:

  • Arrive Early: To ensure a smooth start, arrive early and join the correct group based on your preferred distance and speed.

  • Group Meeting: Meet your fellow riders and receive instructions if this is your first LCC ride. Our ride leaders will provide guidance and answer any questions you may have.

  • Start Time: The ride begins promptly at 9:00 am.

  • Route Overview: We'll embark on a picturesque journey through flat terrains with some respectable climbs. As we leave the river valley and depart from Komoka, expect some challenging inclines as we return to London.

  • Distance: Choose from the 40, 59, or 76 km routes, each offering its own unique scenery and challenges.

  • Pace: Our club accommodates riders of various speeds and abilities. If you're unsure about the pace, feel free to ask fellow riders or the ride leader.

  • Safety: Helmets are mandatory for all participants. Additionally, ensure your bike is in good working condition, and carry necessary supplies such as water, snacks, and a spare tube.

  • Group Riding Experience: If you’ve never ridden in a group before, consider joining one of our rider development group sessions. More information to come soon for future sessions in 2025.

  • Membership Requirement: Please note that riders must be members in good standing to join this ride and be covered by insurance.

  • Etiquette: Respect fellow riders, obey traffic rules, and communicate effectively during the ride.

  • Enjoyment: Above all, have fun! Our Sunday club rides are about camaraderie, exploration, and the joy of cycling.

Sugar Shack Shakedown (Gravel)

Join us for the second annual Sugar Shack Shakedown, a thrilling 70 km route that promises an unforgettable adventure through picturesque landscapes and diverse terrain. With approximately 280m of elevation gain, this mixed-terrain journey combines the best of both road and gravel cycling experiences.

Starting from familiar roads, we'll venture towards Sharon Creek, where you'll encounter delightfully challenging gravel river valleys on a scenic loop. As we continue our journey towards Delaware, expect to traverse twisty gravel roads that add an extra element of excitement to the ride.

At Komoka, we'll make a hard right onto gravel straights along Lamont Drive, where we'll pause to indulge in a delicious Sugar Shack meal at McLaughlin's, marking their final weekend before spring closure.

Following our satisfying meal, we'll navigate rural gravel roads homeward, interspersed with thrilling stretches of ungroomed rail trail as we make our way back to London. This route promises a perfect blend of adventure, scenery, and culinary delights, making the Sugar Shack Shakedown a ride to remember. Don't miss out on this exhilarating gravel cycling experience!

Are you interested in learning more about ride leading? Join us for our first Ride Leader Session of 2025!

  • The first 40 minutes will cover what makes a great ride leader and best practices for guiding a group.

  • The rest of the session will be a workshop and discussion on how we can better support our ride leaders and make group rides even better.

  • 🍕 Bonus: We provide pizza and refreshments!

Even if you’re not sure about leading a ride yet, we encourage anyone interested in cycling leadership to attend. The more people who understand how our ride leader program works, the stronger our club will be.

This session is a great opportunity to:

  • Pilot our new training materials and provide feedback.

  • Learn about new ride leader perks for the 2025 season.

  • Shape the club’s programming—if there’s a ride you’d love to see, we’d love to help you organize and lead it!

Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony - Save the date

Join us for the London Cycling Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 26 at 6:00 PM at the Springbank Gardens Complex. The AGM is a key opportunity for members to help shape the future of our club, celebrate our achievements, and recognize standout riders.

Event Schedule:

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: AGM - Club Business & Elections

Participate in essential club discussions, vote on important matters, and hear about our vision for the upcoming season.

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Awards & Social

Celebrate the season and recognize fellow cyclists with our annual awards ceremony. Light refreshments, charcuterie featuring local meats and cheeses, and wine will be provided by London Bicycle Cafe.

Important Action Items:

RSVP here to confirm your attendance. If you’re unable to attend, submitting a proxy form is crucial to help us reach quorum, allowing club business to proceed smoothly. Proxy forms ensure your vote is counted.

Submit Award Nominations: Nominate a fellow rider for a club award before November 11.

R9L - Delaware Komoka 97 km
Distance: 97.3 km | Elevation Gain: 320 m
This route takes you through Delaware and Komoka, offering a great mix of rolling hills and scenic backroads. A perfect ride for those looking to push their distance.

R9M - Delaware Komoka 80 km
Distance: 80.4 km | Elevation Gain: 250 m
A slightly shorter option, this route still takes in the best of the Delaware and Komoka area. It’s ideal for riders looking for a solid mid-range distance.

R9S - Delaware 58 km
Distance: 59.3 km | Elevation Gain: 199 m
